 Pastor Irving

Born August 23, 1950 in the borough of Manhattan in New York City.  Graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx in 1969.  Graduated from Zion Bible Institute in Rhode Island in 1974.  Pastor Rivera was licensed and ordained in 1977 at the Zion Gospel Temple in Rhode Island by The Reverend Dr. Leonard Heroo, president of the Zion Bible Institue.  In 1984, he received his B.A. degree from the College of New Rochelle.  He did graduate studies at the New York Theological Seminary, the College of New Rochelle, and graduated from the Blanton-Peale Graduate School, Pastoral Counseling Program in 1998.

Because he is a man with a desire to share the gospel far and wide, this has led him to many cities around the U.S. and abroad.  His travels has taken him to India, South America, Central America, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Africa and Greece.

 Pastor Irving Rivera is a member of the Reformed Church in America, serving for 29 years as the Senior Pastor of the Fordham Manor Reformed Church.  He is also a member of the General Synod Council of his denomination.  He served as the president of the denomination from 2005-2006.  He is presently a Trustee Board member of the Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.  He serves his community as a member of the Bronx Clergy Task Force and a volunteer Chaplain for the Red Cross.

Pastor Rivera is married to Brunilda Rivera.  They are the parents of Sara Rivera and grandparents of Aaron T. Rivera.  He is presently serving the Fordham Manor Reformed Church as it’s Senior Pastor.
